One story a day This was the winner project of my Ironhack's UX/UI bootcamp. It's an app that helps parents creating a routine for telling stories to their kids. The public presentation was made using storytelling, inserting the audience in the atmosphere of a tale.
They were very happy, but there was a few problems they needed to solve:
The parents worked out all day and wanted some quality time with their kid. They wanted to find a way to set a bedtime without stress, fighting or crying,
They didn't want their kid becoming that kind of zombie, with the face in a device all the time, but they knew smartphones and tablets could be useful, and finding a way of using it wisely would be great!
One day, Luisa was in an Antique Store and saw one of those Alladdin-kind lamps and she thought:
"How great would it be if this lamp was magic and a genie could solve those 3 problems..." That's when the store owner said: "You don't need any magic. There's an app that can solve all of this. It's called One story a day"
Luisa loved the idea, and soon went to App store to download it! Here's what she found:
The possibility to create customized avatars for storytellers and kids and an alarm to set tale-time, to help creating a routine.
Tales packs with different categories for months, trimesters and years.
They had set a time for storytelling and Susi was always excited waiting for it! Also, since they had started with the tales, no stress or crying took place at bedtime, because Susi was always asleep at the end.
And for the parents happiness, Susi was not talking about "tablet time" anymore... it was now just tale time with mom and dad! Zombies issue: check!
And what Enrique liked the most was a tool that allowed him record his voice narrating a tale, when he knew wouldn't be able to home at time... Susi loved to hear dad's voice telling a story and always commented it with him the day after.
